These maps have been added to the database, they are the maps for the HobPQ.

Also, in the monster book extractions.

The three items at the top registered as “??????” could they be the three HP earrings which come from Hob PQ?

Also, in the monster book if you go to the last page (bosses) and look at the last boss, it is the Hob PQ boss, but yet again it is called the “Tranforming Green Snail of the Maze” I think the drops above are of the Hob PQ Boss.

This is very interesting because of the new “space” outfits and new looking buildings. Could we be getting a new town or area? No town like this has been introduced in other versions. This could be specially for gMS. This could also be an extension to the currently deserted Omega Sector. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I also looked at the v88 extractions and there are no signs of the new equips, quests, or npcs.

Original Post

If you journey to the base of the Eos tower you’ll find a lonely and seldom explored land of aliens, secret agents, and giant warring robots. Despite this Omega Sector ranks as one of the single most deserted towns in all of MapleStory. It’s rare to see anyone while walking around whether it’s because of the poor training areas, or the seclusion of OS but typically the place is a ghost town. I hope that my ideas might help to change that via an area expansion and an addition of a nice little high level party quest.

OS is undoubedly a cool concept. Think about it, a secret military base overun with aliens. However, regardless of how far you journey, you remain resolutely earth-bound. Imagine journeying into the depths of space, possibly meeting more powerful aliens of the two species that already inhabit the land. Enter Omega Sector Starstruck. OSS as it will be referred to, is a brand new expansion offering an out-of this world experience. Imagine jumping around zero gravity and fighting the tall, flying bipedal Grays or boarding an alien mothership to find it’s core and vanquish the leader of the mateons with a battalion of warriors. All this is possible in OSS. Let us begin with our classic encounter of the other kind, the Grays.

As in normal OS Grays can fly and what better way to engage them in fierce zero-gravity combat then go flying after them yourself? Always keeping close to the ground, it’s your mission to journey across a hellish alien wasteland to the crater at the end. Along the way, as you traverse this gray, crater-dotted rock, kill as many Grays as you can. Find the Crater and kill the mini boss within. This area, in my opinion would be best suited to a range of 90-110, offering some good training for the range.

The high levels can be hell, and with little variation in training it can get monotonous and boring. While the highest levels will have to wait for “The Nest” those in the range of 130-140 can rejoice as new content offering great training and a PQ wave at them over the horizon. Enter the mateons domain. These creatures are much more at ease on solid ground so you’ll be forced to enter there mothership to fight them and eradicate the bloodthirsty beasts intend upon the destruction of humanity.

Maybe that’s an oversell but you still must journey through corridors, fighting armed mateon guards, avoiding traps, breaking through security doors to make it to the ships epicenter. Here you find a myriad of other warriors queuing in the antechamber. In safety they prepare to enter the control room to fight Mateuos and claim their prize, the Space Helmet, a new boss drop offering sexy new stat boosts. Before we discuss the fight though, the helmet isn’t the only sexy exclusive drop. Only available from Mateous are the Moon Boots and the Jetpack. The boots offering a drastic increase in jump, nearly double that of the maximum power of haste but with a trade off of a maximum speed of 80%. The Jetpack cape however does not decrease speed but does not increase jump either simply hotkey the jetpack and after you’ve jumped hold down the key to remain suspended in air, offering an identical effect to the skill of wings, with the tradeoff of a reduce use time and that it takes away your cape slot.

Now onto the fight itself! After you’ve formed up with 19 or so others, enter the room for a fight. A very powerful boss, Mateous is immobile like Zakum or Horntail, however rather than sit in the center of the floor, she hangs from the ceiling, a mutated queen of the mateons who uses her tentacles to strike her opponents. Destroy her tentacles and force her down to the floor for stage two. There the maimed and vicious creature let’s out her most powerful attacks which can easily devastate the entire group. Defeat her and claim your rewards. While it is recommended you use a squad of 25 in the level 140 range, anyone above 100 may participate for the reward of the helmet.

That however is not the PQ. A third boss can be found in the PQ, one intended for the upper spectrum of OSS visitors, one focusing on the mateons, one available to levels 120-140. Welcome yo OS-BO or Omega Sector Blast Off. It’s your mission to clear the ship of the alien scourge and prepare it for launch.

Stage 1
- Simple enough, get in the launch room and prepare the ship for countdown. You have one hour.

Stage 2
- Get onboard and clear the lower level of the ship of mateons. Once you have the keycard from the last one, drop it on the door to proceed.

Stage 3
- It appears the aliens damaged the control terminal. Hunt for another keycard to access the circuit box. After your in, protect the engineer for two minutes while he repairs the controls.

Stage 4
- Continue your journey up to find the code to the top of the rocket. By trying every combination of levers by hitting them to turn them on and off, try every combo to open to door.

Stage 5
- Now enter the top of the rocket and prepare for launch. Simply tale a rest and prepare for the real challenge, the timer stops here for a rest. Like the Dojo, once the leader talks to the NPC, in this case the control panel, they move on.

Stage 6
- Now the rockets moving, as sights rush past the windows the backup engine didn’t function properly it seems. It’s your party’s job to fight your way to the base and the engine room, repair the backup engine. One member must journey into a small room, complete a jump quest and remove the jammed gear by knocking it out, rejoin your party members outside and move back to the top.

Boss Fight
- Something got into the control room while you were away. So kill it why don’t you. Very similar to the Basic Mateons, the creature will move about and rather than kill you, will attempt to destroy the ships controls. Destroy it first. Once you’re done you have arrived at your destination, a bonus ground. Break the falling meteors with a single hit and claim the money as it falls.

Hopefully these ideas are able to rekindle an interest in the land that has so much to offer, OS.

Well, Tespia is the “testing” server for gMS. They will be able to try the new event or items before anyone else. They also get special bonuses such as better exp and drop rates and I believe free NX! Of course, you can’t bring this back to your normal MS character. However, you can copy your existing character there, but then from now on the two character and accounts will not be connected.

The real reason I made this post is that I don’t have a Tespia account and unfortunately wasn’t invited. To further help this site and its developement, if anyone would be willing to share with me or give me an account that has been invited to Tespia that would be great. I would prefer it is not your main account since there may be problems if we both logged in, but if you have a quit account, a mule account, or just some random account that has made it in and will be willing to let me use it, please contact me in MapleStory. Make a new character in Mardia and find either IVLapLeSushi or iFoundASushi. I will be on either of those. It’s amazing how many new ideas were put into this job. Personally I think they look really cool, but they may not be the funnest because of the slow movement.

After the July 28th server check, we will be receiving the peanut machine. This will be an event and will not last forever.

The peanut machine is simple. The peanut machine gives two items everytime you use it!

To open a peanut, you need to obtain 1 peanut which is dropped from monsters and a peanut machine which can be bought from the cash shop 1.4k nx.

+  > Click the peanut machine then drag the peanut into the slot to open it. Each Peanut Machine can only crack open 1 peanut!

The UI should look like this after click the machine.

What are the prizes? Well, you can get scrolls, mounts, chairs, and certain new exclusive items.

The mounts you can get are:

Nightmare Mount (10-days)

Yeti Mount (10-days)

Ostrich Mount (10-days)

Pink Bear Hot-Air Balloon Mount (10-days)

Transformation Robot Mount (10-days)

You can also get new chairs and certain copies. The new chairs are the Chewing Panda Chair, Fuzzy Kitty Chair and Tent Chair. There is also the Chief Chair which is identical to the Miwok Chief Chair and the Rose Chair which is identical to the Bloody Rose.

As of now, doesn’t seem like the peanut machine is giving chairs. If you have a ss, please leave link.

Now those are just for looks, but the peanut machine also gives many useful items, such as the Gold Hammer! It has the same effects as a Vicious Hammer but there is a twist.

Gold Hammer

Description: It provides you one additional chance to apply a scroll on your equipment item. Only 1 hammer can be used per item.

^ The description says “1 hammer can be used per item”. Does that mean it doesn’t use the same slot as the vicious hammer? or does it mean these are worse than normal hammers?

Can items now have 3 hammered slots? or is this just a typo? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

This is the new UI for it. It looks just like the vicious hammer. The only difference I can recognize is the title.

The last addition with the peanut machine is Blizzard Equips!

This is a 5 – item set which adds a special effect when wearing all items. They are tradable even after wearing and have multiple set bonuses. All of these items are common.

This set isn’t very useful since it is low level and has pretty bad stats.

What else can you get?

Advanced Potential and Advanced Equip Enhancement Scrolls! These scrolls are usually only available from the Chaos Zakum and Horntail, but now you can get them just like this!

Also, you can get durablity weapons! These are usually only obtainable through the Dragon Rider PQ, but can be exclusively yours!

Also, a whole new equipment – category is being released, shoulder decorations! And you can get the first shoulder decorations from the peanut machine.

Each of the toenails add +1 w.att, +1m.att, +20 w.def, and +20 m.def. However each of them add +2 to a certain AP stat (STR, DEX, INT, or LUK), except the Shiny Tiger Toenail adds +2 to all the AP Stats!

The last possibly obtainable prize are new treasure boxes. You can obtain one of them, trade it for a special coin and a jewel, then trade the coin for lots of mesos!

I know, this is a lot from just one peanut! That’s why it’s only available for a limited time!

First of all, when finishing the 4th job advancement which is the same as any other thief class, you start with not 3 skills and Maple Warrior, but 4 skills and Maple Warrior.

The 4 skills you start with are:

• Venom Stab [Mastery Level: 10] – When attacking an enemy, there is a chance of poisoning them.
• Sudden Raid [Mastery Level: 10] – Summons ninjas to attack up to 15 monsters with flaming arrows.
• Stack Effect [Mastery Level: 10] – Creates a copy of yourself to draw your enemies.
• Thorns [Mastery Level: 10] – Gives you and your party a chance to deal critical damage.
• Monster Bomb [Mastery Level: 10] – Sticks a bomb to a certain monster then explodes a few seconds later to deal damage to surrounding monsters.

All skills for Dual Masters are Master Level: 30, but some of the ones above just start at 10 and require mastery books to allow you to get them to 30.

Here are the drops for the other skill books. Skill books allow you to get a whole new skill. These are only available for Dual Masters.

• [Skill Book] Chains of Hell – This skill book unlike other jobs immediately raises the mastery level to 30 instead of 10. Dropped by Zakum.
• [Skill Book] Final Cut – This skill book also unlike other jobs immediately raises the mastery level to 30 instead of 10. Dropped by Zakum.

These are the drops of the mastery books to raise your mastery level for certain skills to 30. These each have a 50% chance of working. If failed, the mastery level stays at 10.

• Sudden Raid 30 – Dropped by Lyka. A cash shop version can also be obtained for 8.9k nx. It works at a 100% rate and adds 1 SP to Sudden Raid.
• Thorns 30 – Dropped by HornTail. A cash shop version can also be obtained for 8.9k nx. It works at a 100% rate and adds 1 SP to Thorns.
• Venom Stab – Dropped by HornTail.
• Monster Bomb 30 – Dropped by HornTail.
• Stack Effect 30 – Dropped by Oblivion Guardians.

So, in kMS, they are getting the 3 new resistance jobs, Wild Hunter, Battle Mage, and Mechanic!

The Mechanic is a pirate who rides in his own “machine” which fights for him. Slightly like Evan. The machine can wear equips like the Onyx Dragon.

These are the earrings that come from Hob PQ in kMS. These apprently are suppose to have 10% hp too, so if this comes out that would be great for Dual Bladers. Also, they have +3 to two stats clean. I think they might come out 2 patches from now. Pretty sure not this patch since some of it is still in Korean! They don’t say +10% hp yet, but same thing happened in kMS. At first they were just like this, then after an update they gained the +10% hp bonus!
